Our 45-minute stretch session is a full body stretch from head to toe. We make sure not only to find where you may be inflexible, but improve on that flexibility with each session. Towards the end of the session, we will go back over some of the problem areas and do even more focused work to make sure we address any inflexibility issues.
At Blackwell Chiropractic, our doctors may suggest stretch therapy for you to gain more flexibility and mobility while also preventing future injury.

Health Benefits of Stretch Therapy
Many people are forced to maintain a certain position for extended periods of time, such as sitting at a desk or standing. Over time, these habits create a lack of mobility and flexibility. Stretch therapy is a great way to counter this day-to-day routine. Post exercise stretch therapy works great to aid in recovery and combat general soreness. Generally, the health benefits of stretch therapy include:
- Reduced chance of injury
- Enhanced flexibility
- Increased range of motion
- Decreased tension, soreness, and tightness that often accompany exercise
- Stimulate muscle growth
- Prevent muscle weakness
How should I prepare for a 45-minute stretch session?
After you and our doctors decide that stretch therapy will benefit you, our doctors can help you prepare for a safe and satisfying session. Before you begin a stretch session you should:
- Drink plenty of water
- Wear loose or flexible clothing
- Let the therapist know of any injuries you may have
How will I feel after a 45-minute stretch session?
After the session you may feel more flexible and mobile. Muscle tension will be significantly decreased and you may feel a general warmth throughout your body as these stretches may increase your circulation. General soreness may be typical after a stretch session, similar to that of going to the gym to work out when it's been a while. With proper hydration afterwards, soreness should be minimal.
